Dear Friends,
I am pleased to announce that we have called The Rev. Megan Allen-Miller to serve as Trinity Cathedral’s Priest Associate for Community Outreach and Pastoral Care. She begins her time at Trinity on October 1.
Dean Owens concluded the call process with Megan prior to his sabbatical, but to respect her leave-taking needs in her current congregation, asked me to make the announcement at the appropriate time.
Dean Owens wrote:
I am pleased to share with the Trinity Cathedral community that I have called the Rev. Megan Allen-Miller to serve as Trinity’s Priest Associate for Community Outreach and Pastoral Care. Megan currently serves as a curate in the Diocese of Ohio, jointly serving St. Andrew’s and All Saints’ churches in Toledo. She is a wise and deeply faithful priest with great gifts for pastoral care and congregational ministry and comes to Trinity with rich experience in relationship-based community outreach.
Megan is taking this time to say farewell to her two current congregations, then will take a few weeks transition time before she and her spouse Lynzi move to the Cleveland area.
I am so excited to have Megan join our staff and deepen our clergy team. The coming season will be one of strengthened ministry and pastoral care for our cathedral congregation and I could not be more excited. Please join me in welcoming Megan to Trinity! The Very Rev. Bernard J. Owens+
On behalf of the Vestry, let me add my joy at the anticipation of her arrival, and relay her greetings to all of us in her letter that follows:
Dear People of Trinity Cathedral,
With joy and gratitude, I write to share how honored I am to be joining you as your Priest Associate for Community Outreach and Pastoral Care!
From the moment I began discerning this call, I had the opportunity to truly get a sense of your deep commitments to welcome and inclusion, to justice and compassion, and to your rhythms of prayer and worship that shape our common life. Very quickly it became clear to me that not only is the Spirit very much at work at Trinity Cathedral, but she was also calling me to be a part of the transformative work happening in this amazing place.
For the past year and a half, I have served as Curate at St. Andrew’s and All Saints’ Episcopal Churches in Toledo, OH, where I’ve been shaped by the love and faithfulness of two wonderful congregations. While it will be hard to say goodbye to them, I do so with a full heart, knowing that God is calling me into something new that feels both exciting and deeply grounded in purpose.
I look forward to getting to know each of you, learning your stories, sharing in your joys and struggles, and discovering together how we might continue to be Christ’s hands and heart in Cleveland and the world.
As we enter into our time of transition, I ask that you please keep the communities of St. Andrews and All Saints, as well as my wife, Lynzi, and I in your prayers. And know that Lynzi and I are already holding all of you in ours.
With hope and anticipation,
The Rev. Megan Allen-Miller+
