Sacraments & Rites
Life is full of significant moments and milestones, both joyous and solemn.
Among these moments are those considered sacraments. A sacrament is a Christian rite that is recognized as being particularly important and significant. Through sacraments and sacramental rites we participate in God’s graceful and tangible presence in our lives.
Our Anglican tradition recognizes sacraments as “outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace.” Among these sacraments are baptism, weddings, and funerals. These moments of passage are steps in our journey to wholeness and faith.
Baptism
In the waters of baptism, we are lovingly adopted by God into God’s family, which we call the Church, and given God’s own life to share and reminded that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ. Holy Baptism marks a formal entrance to the congregation and wider Church.
Adults, children, and Infants are all eligible for baptism at Trinity. Baptisms can take place throughout the year, but are principally held on four feast days (or holidays) that celebrate our baptismal life: All Saints’ Sunday, The Baptism of Our Lord, The Great Vigil of Easter, and Pentecost.
Weddings
Through Christian marriage, God blesses and the people of God witness the sacred commitment of two people who choose to make marriage a part of their mutual faith journey.
