Love—and music—was in the air at Trinity Cathedral on Friday, February 13. The cathedral’s annual cabaret fundraiser returned for its second outing, this time with the theme Lucky in Love, transforming Cathedral Hall into a dynamic stage for community and song. Around 80 guests gathered for an evening happy hour, browsing a silent auction filled with donated items ranging from original paintings and hand-knit shawls to free voice lessons or professional tax prep sessions. The room buzzed with excitement as guests shared light refreshments and bubbly drinks while bidding on curated gift baskets and entering the 50/50 raffle.

The evening’s highlight was the performance lineup, featuring talented choir members and congregants. The setlist included musical theatre selections from Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, and Rent, alongside a performance of “Mr. Sandman” and a dramatic poetry reading. To close the evening, the choir performed Elaine Hagenberg’s “O Love,” a personal favorite of Bishop Anne.

This year’s event provided substantial support for Trinity’s music programs, with proceeds already surpassing last year’s total. As a joint fundraiser, the funds are split between Music & Art at Trinity—the 501(c)3 that produces the concert series—and the cathedral’s music ministries, including the choir and the Abundant Table band. These resources ensure that Trinity’s vibrant musical life continues to flourish for the downtown Cleveland community and beyond.
