Abundant Table: Blessing of the Animals

In celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, join us in the cathedral at 9:00 a.m. for the full Blessing of the Animals service, with shorter pet blessings at 8:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. All well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome, and children are invited to bring their plush animals for a blessing. We ask that you please keep the east transept as a pet-free area for visitors with animal allergies or anxiety around animals.

This expansive intergenerational service of Holy Eucharist is offered at 9 a.m. in the fall, winter, and spring. Building on a 20-year tradition of contemporary worship on Sunday mornings, the Abundant Table service is a service that: joyfully expands the tradition while remaining rooted in it, seeking creative ways to connect ancient faith to contemporary experience, welcomes children, teenagers and adults of all ages and teaches the love of Jesus, brings people at all stages of the journey of faith into mutual celebration, breaks bread at the altar of God’s banquet, moves with a strong rhythm, a full sound and robust congregational singing.
