EASTER SUNDAY, April 21

6 a.m.  The Great Vigil of Easter

Join us for a very special sunrise service as we kindle the new fire of Easter and then process through the darkened Cathedral as our path is illumined by the flame of the Paschal candle. Once gathered in the Cathedral, we recall the story of salvation in word, drama, and song. We then process to the baptismal font where we renew our baptismal vows and then celebrate the resurrection with a proclamation of the Great Alleluia and the ringing of bells, the smell of incense and celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter Day.  The pageantry and jubilation of this service make it well worth waking up early. Immediately following this service there is an Easter breakfast (suggested donation: $6 for adults, $3 for children).

9 a.m.  Contemporary Festival Eucharist

Music by the Gateway Band
We will celebrate Easter at this festive Eucharist with the Trinity Gateway Band. Worship will culminate in a great circle of joyous love, acceptance, and abundance around God’s table.

10:10 a.m.  Easter Egg Hunt, grades preK-5

Trinity kids enjoy a frenzied, friendly egg hunt in the Third Floor Family Center after the 9 a.m. Contemporary Festival Eucharist! Parents will gather to enjoy music, coffee and breakfast goods while children hunt for eggs hidden throughout the space. Following the hunt, Easter crafts will be offered.

11:15 a.m.  Festival Eucharist

Following the festive shout of “Alleluia, Christ is risen!” we will once again herald the Good News of Easter. The Cathedral Choir, accompanied by brass, organ and timpani, will provide rousing music, conducted by Todd Wilson.  Music will include the great hymns of Easter, anthems by Bach, Scheidt and Hancock, concluding with Widor’s thrilling Toccata played by organ, brass and timpani.
