Food For Families

Food for Families, formerly known as Blessings in a Backpack, is part of Trinity Cathedral’s hunger ministry, a neighborhood outreach program. While the goals of the ministry remain the same–to provide nutritious food for the students and families of the school–Trinity Cathedral in January 2014 entered into a partnership with the Cleveland Food Bank and the new name better reflects this partnership. On the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month, the Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry Program delivers food to the school (fruit, vegetables and breads)–enough to feed all the students, their families and seniors in the neighborhood. Thanksgiving Baskets

Each year, the Trinity Cathedral congregation provides Thanksgiving baskets for families at Marion-Sterling where 100 percent of the students qualify for free lunch. Under the direction of Trinity member David Cratty, Trinity collaborates with the congregation at St. Hubert’s in Kirtland and other local organizations to provide a basket for as many families as possible. Our goal for 2015 is 180 baskets to meet the needs of all Marion-Sterling families. You can help in four ways: Donate food – please see the shopping list. Make a financial donation.

Uniforms & School Supplies

Each year there are students at Marion-Sterling whose families do not have sufficient funds to provide them with school uniforms. Proper attire for the school includes: navy, black, or khaki pants; white or light blue polo or dress shirt/blouse; and navy fleece without a hood. There is also a need for new undergarments.
