On November 2, a pop-up art gallery featuring artwork from students of Marion-Sterling School was featured at a BrownBag concert with the Cleveland TOPS Swing Band.
The decision has been made to put Food for Families on hiatus starting in October. We will hold our normal September (Friday, Sept 13 at the usual time) school pantry at Marion-Sterling, as promised to our recipients and in fulfilling our contract with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Our contract with the Food Bank goes from October thru September. At this time, we will not be renewing the contract, however, if in the near future (within the next year) we decide to reinstate the program, we have the option to renew at that time.
Each year, the Trinity Cathedral congregation provides Thanksgiving baskets for families at Marion-Sterling where 100 percent of the students qualify for free lunch. Under the direction of Trinity member David Cratty, Trinity collaborates with the congregation at St. Hubert’s in Kirtland and other local organizations to provide a basket for as many families as possible. Each year there are students at Marion-Sterling whose families do not have sufficient funds to provide them with school uniforms. Proper attire for the school includes: navy, black, or khaki pants; white or light blue polo or dress shirt/blouse; and navy fleece without a hood. There is also a need for new undergarments.
