Trinity Cathedral’s 2016 Annual Meeting Full of Gratitude, Hope

CLEVELAND — Gratitude for the past year and hope for the future were evident as more than 200 congregants gathered in Trinity Cathedral for the church’s Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 1. Dean Tracey Lind delivered a rousing address featuring highlights from the Cathedral’s 2015 annual report and financial performance. Themes of the address included Trinity’s vibrant worship, music, and education offerings, as well as the church’s continued commitment to serving Cleveland, particularly its neighbors in the Central Ward and Cleveland State University. Trinity to Hold Blessing of the Bicycles on May 8th

CLEVELAND — On Sunday, May 8th, Trinity Cathedral will host its first annual “Blessing of the Bicycles” service and a bike rodeo cosponsored by Bike Cleveland. Cyclists will roll into the Cathedral for special 9 a.m. service honoring Cleveland’s biking community and its role in making the city a more sustainable, vibrant place to live. Following the service will be a bike rodeo in Trinity’s parking lot teaching basic handling, safety, and other essential tips for riders of all ages and skill levels. Longtime Trinity Cathedral members Patty and Steve Roberts recently received the 2015 Resident Leaders Award from Ohio City Inc. for their leadership in the Ohio City neighborhood, where they live. Having formerly lived in Shaker Heights for nearly 25 years, Patty and Steve relocated to Ohio City in 2013 for its walkability and its close proximity to friends and Trinity Cathedral. Urban Farm Volunteers are Needed

On the evening of March 22, I attended a potluck meal with 12 Urban Farm volunteers, at the Farm’s annual spring kickoff dinner. Farm coordinator Scott Blanchard used a slideshow to share Farm photos and 2015 harvest statistics. The group discussed the upcoming 2016 growing season— veggies to plant, special events and strategies for engaging new volunteers. Volunteers will begin cleaning up the Farm, and they will also build some new planting beds, starting on Saturday, April 2, 9 AM.
