Renowned Global Thought Leader Dr. Jackson Katz to Speak on Gender Violence at Trinity Cathedral
Dr. Jackson Katz— Educator, author and global thought leader — will give two multi-media talks at Trinity Cathedral Cathedral on Monday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 10 at 11:30 a.m. Dr. Katz will speak on “Men and #MeToo: Promise and Perils in a Time of Change,” using his pioneering research and activism in the men’s movement to promote gender equality. The lectures are free and open to the public, and are presented in partnership with Cleveland State University, Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and Appletree Books. Jackson Katz, Ph.D., is an educator, author, filmmaker and cultural theorist. He is internationally renowned for his pioneering scholarship and activism on issues of gender, race and violence. He has long been a major figure and thought leader in the growing global movement of men working to promote gender equality and prevent gender violence. His TED talk, “Violence against Women – It’s a Men’s Issue” has been viewed more than 3.5 million times.
Doors will open one-hour before the lecture programs. Limited free parking is available in Trinity’s surface lot on Prospect Avenue, just east of East 22nd Street.
