Appointment of the Rev. Sarah Shofstall
Dear Trinity kindred,
I am very pleased to announce that the Rev. Sarah J. Shofstall, immediate past rector of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Bay Village, has been appointed as Priest Associate at Trinity. She will assume many of the responsibilities for adult formation, liturgy, pastoral care, and cathedral ministries associated with the position of canon.
Previous to St. Barnabas, the Rev. Shofstall served as Canon to the Ordinary for the Diocese of Western Massachusetts. She has both an undergraduate and a law degree from the University of Nebraska, and practiced law before studying at The General Theological Seminary.
The Rev. Shofstall could hardly be better qualified to undertake this important full-time assignment. She brings to Trinity experience both as a parish priest and a diocesan canon. Given the very recent retirement of the Rev. Kay Rackley and the likelihood that Trinity’s new dean will soon be identified, we are fortunate that she is able to join us at a pivotal time,
She will begin her appointment on Sunday, July 1 and will preach at both the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services.
The Rev. Paul L. Gaston
