Sunday, Oct. 30: Dean’s Conversation, Beatles Mass

The Rt. Rev. Bill Persell, former dean of Trinity Cathedral, returns to preach the 11:15 a.m. service. Canon Kay Rackley will preach at the 8 and 9 a.m. services. The 9 a.m. service with the Gateway Band will feature the hits of the Beatles!

Rt. Rev. Persell also joins Dean Tracey Lind for a Dean’s Forum conversation. The two living deans of Trinity will reflect on their ministry experiences, including how Trinity engaged the community during their tenures.

A reception with the deans in the 2nd floor Gallery will follow the 11:15 am service. You won’t want to miss this, especially if you haven’t yet visited the new Bicentennial exhibit in the gallery! On display are fascinating items from Trinity’s archives, significant paintings, and a timeline of this congregation’s place in the history of Cleveland. The exhibit will be open next on Nov. 6 and 9, the dates of the Bicentennial Celebration Service and Bicentennial Evensong.

Also this Sunday, our youth group will host a pancake breakfast to celebrate All Saints Day! Join us in the Cathedral Hall from 8:30 to 11 am. Donations will go to support the youth group’s 2017 Mission Trip to Philadelphia.

Youth should report as early as 8:30 am. There will be no youth group meeting, but youth can assist with the pancake breakfast. All children’s programming including Chapel Chat and Sunday School will still be held in their classrooms.

In addition to our youth fundraiser, all children and youth are encouraged to dress up as a saint of their choosing in celebration of All Saints Day. All costumes should be appropriate (no masks or weapons).

The event will include a 2 pm training prep at Trinity Cathedral, and a march to the Board of Elections to VOTE EARLY! Join GCC to demonstrate power and make a statement about voter suppression in Cuyahoga County!
