What is Lent Madness? It’s a fun, engaging way for everyone to learn about the men and women who are included in the Church’s Calendar of Saints, during the season of Lent (this year, beginning Wednesday, March 1). Here’s the format: 32 “saints” are placed into a tournament-like single elimination bracket. Biographical information about each of the saints is shared and people vote for their favorite saints, on the Lent Madness website or using Facebook or Twitter. Things get more interesting in subsequent rounds— we find out a little more about the semifinal and final contenders– and ultimately one saint earns the coveted Golden Halo.
Trinity’s children and youth will learn about the saints on Sundays during Lent, and all congregation members are invited to participate in Lent Madness. It’s easy to join and participation is free. Find out more on the Lent Madness website, www.lentmadness.org or check out Lent Madness on Facebook or Twitter. Lent Madness is sponsored by Forward Movement, the religious education resource that publishes Forward Day by Day. Stop by the Lent Madness table in the Promenade on Jan. 24, 31 or Feb. 7, to find out more. Interested? Talk with Lent Madness enthusiast Sally Lambert, 216-371-2168, email@example.com.
