The Rev Janet VincentThis retreat day will offer participants ways to use their imaginations in developing a “rule of life” by exploring spiritual practices that can open us more fully to God and each other.

The broader purpose of this day is to see our spiritual practices not as isolated, pious endeavors but as paths leading to a deeper connection to God, ourselves, our neighbors and creation. We will be invited to recognize how very much God yearns to transform the world through us; how every exercise can draw us deeper into lives of meaning and purpose. We’ll also explore what it means to rest in Christ, and there find our true identity.

Bring journals, sketchpads, bibles, poems, cameras, rosaries, crosses, icons, dreams — whatever you’d like to have with you. Wear comfortable clothes for stretching and warm socks for walking the labyrinth, if that is what you’d like to do.

If you are participating in the Growing a Rule of Life program, this day will complement what you’ve been exploring. But the day can also stand apart from the program. All you need is a hungry heart.
