CLEVELAND (Feb. 25, 2015) – Just a day after The Airborne Toxic Event surprised fans with the release of not one, but two new albums, the band has announced that they will join Cathedral Concerts and perform at Trinity Cathedral on Friday, March 13, as part of their Dope Machines Tour.
The Airborne Toxic Event describes the upcoming nine-date tour as an intimate one-of-a-kind audio/visual concert experience with songs from the entire new “Dope Machines” album as well as the band’s previous three albums. “Dope Machines” takes an experimental, synth and beat driven style. The album’s lead single, “Wrong,” can be viewed on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-m2q-i9lcM.
Originating from Los Angeles, the band is known for their blend of rock music and orchestral arrangements. They released their first full-length album in 2008, which contained the gold selling single “Sometime Around Midnight.” The song was also named the No. 1 Alternative Song of the Year on iTunes and spent a staggering eight weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseakers Chart.
Tickets are $39.50 (all general seating) and go on sale Friday, February 27, at 10 a.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketweb.com, www.ticketmaster.com or at the Cathedral Concerts box office (located at 23400 Mercantile Road, Suite #10, Beachwood, Ohio 44122). Fans can also purchase tickets by phone at 1 (866) 468-3401.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert is set to begin at 8 p.m.
Cathedral Concerts’ parent company The Elevation Group has partnered with the band and Cleveland’s WVIZ/PBS ideastream to record the show which will air at a later date. The production will mark The Airborne Toxic Event’s second TV taping in two days, as the group will perform on the Late Show with David Letterman prior to traveling to Cleveland.
“We are completely stoked to have The Airborne Toxic Event join us at Trinity,” said Denny Young, President of The Elevation Group. “The group is amazing, influential and completely respected amongst artists and fans alike.”

Other acts announced include Howard Jones (March 14), Mary Chapin Carpenter (April 30), Marc Cohn (May 5) and Bruce Hornsby (May 7).
