Fans to Receive Hornsby’s “Solo Concerts” Live Double Album With Ticket Purchase
Cathedral Concerts, a new concert series exclusive to Cleveland, announced today its third show to be presented at Trinity Cathedral, featuring renowned artist and songwriter Bruce Hornsby on May 7, 2015.
The concert, billed as “An Evening with Bruce Hornsby,” is part of his spring tour 2015, during which he will perform songs spanning his illustrious, award-winning career. Hornsby’s new live double album “Solo Concerts” will be included with the purchase of each ticket.
“Solo Concerts,” an emotional musical merger of American history and European daring, is a 21-song, two-disc demonstration of all this and more in which the various elements of Hornsby’s songwriting and instrumental styles align in highly personal ways. Ticketholders can redeem their copy of the album the night of the show.
“I am looking forward to returning to Cleveland,” Hornsby stated. “It’s the home of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and a city that as supported me since day one. I am told that Trinity Cathedral is a gem. It should be a beautiful setting.”
Hornsby’s recordings have been recognized on a number of occasions with industry awards, including the 1987 Grammy Award for Best New Artist with Bruce Hornsby and the Range, the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album, and the 1994 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
Cleveland’s WVIZ/PBS ideastream will record the show as part of their plan to share the special Cathedral Concerts music series with a broader audience. It will air locally in Cleveland and across the state of Ohio at a later date.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert is set to begin at 8 p.m.
Cleveland-based agency, The Elevation Group, conceived, created and is producing Cathedral Concerts. Cathedral Concerts’ first show – featuring nationally acclaimed touring act Red Wanting Blue set for Friday, Dec. 5 – is already sold out. Limited tickets remain for Academy Award winner Glen Hansard’s show on Feb. 12.
“Bruce Hornsby. What more can I say,” stated The Elevation Group President Denny Young. “Bruce is amazing and to have the chance to present an artist of this caliber in our first season is incredible.”
