What is Lent Madness? It’s a fun, engaging way for everyone to learn about the men and women who are included in the Church’s Calendar of Saints, during the season of Lent (this year, beginning Wednesday, Feb 14). Here’s the format: 32 “saints” are placed into a tournament-like single elimination bracket. Biographical information about each of the saints is shared and people vote for their favorite saints, on the Lent Madness website or using Facebook or Twitter. Things get more interesting in subsequent rounds— we find out a little more about the semifinal and final contenders– and ultimately one saint earns the coveted Golden Halo.
