Rain Barrel Workshop
Saturday, September 18, 12:30 - 2 pm
Cost $65; Limited to the first 10 registrants; register by September 10

Back by popular demand! Join the Trinity Green Team at a rain barrel workshop where you can build your own barrel complete with hose fitting and downspout diverter. The cost is $65, which is less than half what you would pay retail for a barrel.

A rain barrel is a system that collects and stores rainwater from the roof of your home. It is a great way to collect the runoff that would otherwise go into storm drains and streams. This free "soft water" contains no chlorine, lime or calcium making it ideal for gardens, flower pots, car and window washing. By using a rain barrel you will not only help protect the environment, but also save money and energy by decreasing your demand for treated tap water. Diverting water from storm drains also decreases the impact of runoff on streams. If you live in the Northeast Ohio Sewer District you may also be able to claim a credit on the new stormwater management fee being added to bills this fall.

The Green Team and Third Half of Life invite everyone to discover the wonders of the lower Cuyahoga River. The 1969 fire on this part of the river helped spur a national movement to save the environment and improve water quality.

Join Captain Wayne Bratton, who helped lead the clean up of the river, aboard the Holiday for a two-hour cruise from the mouth of the river up the shipping channel to the trestle where the fire occurred. This tour will be sure to ignite your desire to be a part of the restoration of our vital waterways.

Meet at Trinity at 1 pm to carpool to Northcoast Harbor. Register with Steve Loger at 216-774-0409 or email. For more information talk with Steve, Rich Horton, or Bev Moffet.
