Lucineh Hovanissian, a composer, singer and pianist from Armenia will be at Trinity from early September through November as part of Creative Fusion, The Cleveland Foundation’s international artist-in-residence program. This is the first year Music and Art at Trinity Cathedral has been a participant of the program.

Creative Fusion is a multi-year initiative to bring accomplished artists from diverse cultures to Cleveland for extended periods of time. These artists will be embedded within existing cultural institutions to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences across sectors, populations, ideologies and modes of creative expression.

Hovanissian has shown an interest in music since she was young and has been performing on stage since the age of 9 as a soloist singer in Yerevan’s Municipal Park children’s Band. In 1994 she graduated from Yerevan State Medical University (diploma with honours) followed subsequently by post-graduated studies in the field of children’s dentistry. Hovanissian completed her musical studies in the vocal department of the Jazz Art College and the Yerevan State Conservatory. Read more about the artist here.

While in Cleveland, Hovanissian will participate occasionally with Sunday morning services, will perform at the Nov. 14 BrownBag concert and work with area students.

Anyone willing to welcome her with meals, house-warming items, etc. should contact Todd Wilson or Rob Bauer.
