A retreat led by Henri Nouwen’s student and friend Chris Glaser
“Much of the crisis in the life of the church today is connected with a lack of knowledge of the heart. … When the moral life gets all the attention, we are in danger of forgetting the primacy of the mystical life, which is the life of the heart.” –Henri J. M. Nouwen
During his lifetime, Henri Nouwen wrote 40 books on “the life of the heart,” the spiritual life. He encouraged readers to discover their own “inner voice of love” even as they offered their lives to others. Rev. Glaser was one of his students at Yale Divinity School, and when Nouwen died, began leading workshops and retreats on his unique take on spirituality, culminating in Glaser’s book, Henri’s Mantle: 100 Meditations on Nouwen’s Legacy.
