Hope, Reconciliation and the Arts

Wednesday class, 7:30 p.m. on May 2, 9, 16 & 23
Led by Trinity member Charlotte Nichols

In this hands-on series, we will explore the arts as a vehicle for building communities of reconciliation and hope. In the first two sessions, we will be joined by members of the Transformational Art Center (TAC). TAC is an organization committed to the building of relationship with the voices of the street through artistic expression by walking together with those who are experiencing homelessness or life transitions. TAC members strive to be open to the expression of the spirit of unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness and mercy through the arts. We welcome all of God’s children in the hope of more fully experiencing God’s transforming power in our lives and community. TAC members will share their experiences with this program, and we will work together on group projects designed to support the building of community through the arts.

On May 16, we will reflect together upon the experiences of weeks one and two. On May 23, Sr. Ellen Themes, Order of Saint Ursula, an art therapist, will lead us in an experience of healing through artistic expression. Plan to participate in one, or all, of these classes to experience together the healing and transformational power of the arts.

Please note that due to this class, Sacred Space will not meet on the third Monday of the month as the group usually does.
