Trinity members Martha and Wayne Bifano will lead a one-hour presentation at Lake View Cemetery’s Wade Memorial Chapel on June 9 at 2 p.m. The chapel is dedicated to the memory of Jeptha Homer Wade, founder of The Western Union Telegraph Company.
It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the interior was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his studio. “Everything inside was designed and executed by the Tiffany Studio,” says Martha Bifano. “Doors, walls, pews, lighting…everything.”
The building was designed by Dominick Benes of Hubbell-Benes. Benes also designed the Cleveland Museum of Art and the West Side Market. “It is probably the most beautiful building you’ve never seen,” adds Martha. “Come. Take the voyage and discover the meaning of this place.”
The cemetery is located at 12316 Euclid Avenue and the tour is sponsored by the Visual Artists at Trinity. Suggested donation: $3. For more information, to RSVP or arrange a carpool, contact Ginger Bitikofer. Click here to share the event on Facebook.
