Signatures are being collected at a table in the promenade Sunday, June 24 to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot to replace the current system of drawing congressional and legislative districts in Ohio with a nonpartisan citizens commissionfunctioning under a set of guidelines that would require that the interests of communities and voters be put ahead of those of any political party, candidate or officeholder. They would mandate compactness, contiguity, integrity of community borders, and, as much as possible, competitiveness. To attempt to make this year’s ballot, as many signatures as possible are needed by July 1. More information is available at the Voters First Ohio website or talk to Trinity member Anastasia Pantsios.
