Volunteers at Trinity’s urban farm have already harvested 225 pounds of produce this season (compared to 50 pounds at this time last year). With the harvest ahead of schedule, extra volunteers are needed each Saturday from now through October.
On July 18, members of Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU) and other area business interns, will work at the farm from noon until 4 p.m. as part of the 2012 Summer of Service: Local Foods for a Sustainable Northeast Ohio event. Farm leader Scott Blanchard says volunteers are needed that day to assist – the more, the merrier. Share the event on Facebook here.
The farm is located at E. 35th and Cedar Avenue. To learn more, contact Blanchard at scottwblanchard@roadrunner.com or Ginger Bitikofer at 216-774-0407.
