Help the Urban Farm Hit the One-Ton Mark

The Trinity Urban Farm has harvested 1,726 pounds of produce so far this year. This Saturday, Aug. 25, we can top the one-ton mark for the year if we have enough volunteers. There is enough produce to easily surpass 300 pounds harvested on Saturday, but we’ll only be able to do it with your help. We’ll meet from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., so if you have some time, even a half an hour, to help us pick produce we would greatly appreciate it. Come at any time that’s convenient for you. Well even be replanting the beds that we completely harvest, so the more volunteers we have, the better. Come enjoy sunshine and fellowship and help a good cause. The farm is located at E. 35th and Cedar Avenue.

On Sept. 8, Ohio State University Cuyahoga County Extension office staffers will visit the farm. They will be on hand to answer questions and to help our farm overcome challenges and be more productive. Join us for a fun morning of harvesting and learning valuable gardening tips.

The week of Sept. 8, volunteers from Case Western Reserve University’s Phi Theta Kappa honors fraternity will work at the farm and volunteers are needed as well. Contact Scott Blanchard or Ginger Bitikofer to learn more.
